1. Membership
Membership of Ralph Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Ireland is managed through the MAAT membership app. By registering, you (or, for members under 18, your parent or guardian) accept these terms. Membership is personal and may not be shared or transferred.
2. Members under 18
Members under 18 must be registered by a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on the member’s behalf. Children are placed in the age-appropriate class group (Kids 4 to 8, Kids 9 to 12, Teens 13 to 17) at the coaches’ discretion. Our Child Safeguarding Statement and Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy apply to all children’s classes and are available on this website.
3. Payments and cancellation
Membership fees, payment schedules and cancellations are managed through the MAAT membership app. The fees and payment terms that apply to your membership are those shown in MAAT at registration. To cancel or change your membership, contact us at info@graciejiujitsu.ie or speak to your coach.
4. Class rules and etiquette
Members must follow coach instructions at all times, wear a clean gi or the required training attire, keep nails trimmed, remove jewellery before training, and maintain good personal hygiene. Members should not train when ill or with a contagious skin condition. Coaches may ask a member to sit out or leave a class for safety or conduct reasons.
5. Photography and filming
Photography and filming are not permitted during children’s classes. For all other classes, photography or filming requires the advance permission of the coach and of anyone who would appear in the footage. Club photography (for example, at gradings) takes place only with the advance consent of those photographed or, for children, their parent or guardian.
6. Health and safety
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a contact sport and carries a risk of injury. Members must disclose to the coach any injury or medical condition that could affect safe participation, and should consult a doctor before starting if in doubt. See our Training and Injury Risk information page. Members must report any injury sustained in class to the coach at the time.
7. Personal property
The club is not responsible for personal property brought to the venue. Please do not bring valuables to training.
8. Conduct
Members, parents and guardians are expected to treat coaches, other members and venue staff with respect. The club may suspend or end the membership of anyone whose conduct is dangerous, abusive or contrary to these terms or our safeguarding policies.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this website, with the date of the latest update shown at the top.
